  • 1937年8月生于北京。中共党员, 物理学家。湖北黄冈县樊口镇人。1959年毕业于北京大学物理系。郑州大学教授。长期从事理论物理研究工作,重要论文有《稀土离子对铁磁共振的影响》、《用光学方法实现一般线性变换》、《等离子体的静态稳定性》等,并发表专著《非平衡态统计物理》。自1982年起,任中国科学院等离子体物理研究所所长与合肥分院院长,长期领导中科院核聚变研究工作,并参与领导国家的核聚变研究。领导和组织了我国大型超导托克马克HT-7的建设,并是国家重大科学工程HT-7U计划的主要建议者。1993年当选为中国科学院院士。  霍裕平院士有很高的物理理论造诣,是我国理论物理界的权威之一,他深入研究了高温等离子体的物理过程,促使聚变—裂变混合堆纳入国家高技术发展规划,提出了用光学方法快速处理图象的可能性,他还首次系统地解释了稀土离子对铁磁共振的影响,推动我国相关领域的研究达到国际领先水平。  生平经历  1959年毕业于北京大学物理系,同年进入中国科学院物理研究所工作,1974年调入等离子体物理研究所,1979年应邀赴美国普林斯顿高等研究院工作一年。曾任中国科学院等离子体物理所所长、中国科学院合肥分院院长兼党委书记,兼任中国物理学会常务理事、国家高技术计划能源领域专家委员会委员等职务,1981年至1987年兼任安徽省政协常委。1978年破格晋升为研究员,并先后担任光学、等离子体物理和实验物理三个学科的博士生导师,1993年11月当选为中国科学院院士。1978年以来,曾获全国科学大会奖、中科院科技进步一等奖、中科院科技成果二等奖等多项奖励,获国家有突出贡献的中青年专家,安徽省劳动模范、全国劳动模范等荣誉称号。1996年3月调入郑州大学。30多年来,霍裕平主要从事理论物理与等离子体物理领域的研究工作,他在固体理论、非平衡态统计理论、等离子体物理及核聚变等诸多方面取得了突出成就。  研究方向  主要从事理论物理的研究工作,研究内容涉及凝聚态物理、光学和光信息处理、非平衡态统计理论、高温等离子体物理和受控热核聚变等。在当时极其困难和屡受冲击的情况下坚持科学研究工作,在国内外主要刊物上发表近五十篇论文,主要有《稀土离子对铁磁共振的影响》、《用光学方法实现任意线性变换》、《等离子体静态稳定性》等,并出版专著《非平衡态统计理论》(科学出版社),受到国内外高度重视。六十年代初,与实验物理学家孟宪振合作,发展了强耦合共振系统的理论,完全解决了国际上关心的,稀土离子引起铁氧体铁磁共振诸多特异反常的现象。七十年代初,与杨国桢等合作,将泛函分析方法引入光信息学中,讨论了现代光学设计的基本问题:用全息光学系统实现任意光学变换的可能性,并发展了一些可能的具体设计途径。这一系列工作在国内外引起较大的反响。七十年代末,有关“  等离子体的静态稳定性”研究,提出了“降低受控热核装置设计精度的可行途径”,并在以后用于我国大型托克马克装置的物理设计中,1977年完成具有自己特色的物理设计,其后国际上也陆续采用了这种观点。九十年代初,成功地领导和组织了世界第四个大型超导托克马克的建设。  1978年获全国科技大会个人奖,1984年获中科院科技成果二等奖,1986年获中科院科技进步一等奖,1988年获国家“五一”劳动奖章,1989年获全国劳动模范称号,2000年获河南省科技功臣荣誉称号。
